This editorial peice in Rollingstone Magazine really sets the bigger picture.  The bonuses are peanuts.  The aggregious inequity is not to be measured on a scale of millions, like the 164 distributed as bonuses by AIG.  Even the 700 billion Obama bail-out appearing as the bulk of the tax payer dish out, is in fact a small fraction of the economic benefits reaped by the Wall Street insiders.  These are just the smoke screen so that the media has something to clamour about.

What’s happening inside the Fed and Treasury behind closed doors, as Matt Taibbi argues, is a form of revolution, a sudden power grab.  He is correct in not seeing this as a matter of money, but rather as a matter of power shifting inequitably to an already priviledged part of the society.

To appreciate the saga that has unfolded over the past few months, one must apply oneself to assimiliate a massive body of details.  Matt Taibbi does a commendable job of presenting the stories that matter.  READ IT.
